Self help tapes and DVDs

I wonder if anyone has tried any of the self help tapes, CDs or DVDs and if they have had any success.

I've read a lot of the Rich dad stuff, and found it quite good, and I like Tony Robbins.
We all know what we should do, we just don't know why we don't do it.

I guess it depends on what you listen too. I dont really wish to "awaken the giant within" or to "Heal my Life" as some of these tapes suggest.

I did want to get my money situation sorted out though and I found Dave Ramsey (Kinda a American Martin) quite good at explaining how to get out of debt although it was in that annoying American "WE CAN DO IT.. GO TEAM!!!" type of attitude although it did open my eyes to a few things.

Not specifically NLP or debt related but try 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' or google 'The Secret' and watch the film.

I've always been dubious and self help tapes and the like... to me it just seems like a money making scheme as I find you can only really help yourself rather than having someone in your ear telling you to do/not do something.

But sometimes we have a little "voice" inside us telling us to "spend spend spend" and no amount of knowing what we "should" do keeps us on the straight and narrow. It is the same little "voice" that makes us want chocolate when we are on a diet, or a cigarette when we are trying to give up. Sometimes it seems to work against us

Good self help tapes or NLP exercises can help get that little "voice" on side and can just be the extra little help that we need.

But I do accept I am biased because it is what I do for a living.....
