in June 2010 the Clydesdale bank reviewed our mortgage (not at our reuest) which revealed an inaccuracy in the way our repayments were calculated. The effect of this, when combined with the previous years reduction in interest rates, our minimum payment had fallen below the level required to repay our mortgage within the agreed term.
They recalculated our mortgage and we now and have been paying and extra £182 per month. They have apologised for this issue and any inconvenience it may have caused. Just wondered and i know they have done it now, but was right.
