I think their 'online prices may vary' is that you may get charged different price from that shown which I accept - but the principle which I have raised is still wrong - they are quoting price per pack and price per kilo in the same place - when the to do not proportionately match. This has now been raised with Tesco - will be interesting to see what they say.

I hope this post has been useful for those trying to eke out their shopping budgets.

At Asda the label changes are sent electronically from head office and staff have to print them out and put new SEL's in. Half the time they can't be bothered if the price doesnt change, so the info on the SEL's is wrong. The same applies to price changes, they all have to be accepted and printed out in store, none of the price changes are done automatically. So if you find a price that's wrong it's because a member of staff isn't doing their job properly.

Whilst I understand what you say here, there should be no such thing as a "poor" price integrity team

I worked for a market research company 9/10 years ago, and one of our clients were Sainsbury, back when they first started losing big ground. Our job was to go into EVERY store once a month and spot check their labelling. If a store failed to reach target three months on a trot - their bonuses were stopped. I used to audit stores that when I started barely had any sels, to having 100% correct every month once bonuses were hit and disciplinary actions were taken

Sainsbury were very hot on labelling. I worked as a department manager for them many many years ago, back in the day when labels were indeed sent down from head office and I remember having to tube it up to Black-friars Bridge on many occasion to get labels we were missing

The threat of bonuses been stopped would be ok if stores still gave bonuses out. Tesco stopped them many years ago for staff in Superstores and Extras as I think the other big 3 did.

So now it makes no odds to staff to check that the labels are correct as long as they are the most up to date the Head Office have sent down, the Tesco ones have a little number on to say which version it is. The staff have no control what is on the label, they just make sure the labels are up to date. So the Price Integrity team could be doing everything right but every label in store could be wrong.
