Nt - Hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI

If in the wrong place please feel free to move it!!!!!

Argh…..NT –Hell!!!!! Or Virgin as they are now known (rather apt since they don’t know what they’re doing lol!:rotfl: ) are being a pain in the bum.

We owe them £260 due to a series of !!!! ups by them. Firstly I sent my new bank details and they went to the wrong account for the money, therefore there wasn’t any and they added this to my march bill, plus a £10 late payment fee.

Also on this bill was several premium rate phone calls alledgly made from our phone – which never were as our phone bars these numbers! They also charged us whilst the service went down for 14 days (that was the soonest an engineer could come) and charged us the wrong amount for the package.

I wrote to complain and receveid a letter from them saying we’d receive a letter within 10 days as “we are exceptionally busy” – yeah no wonder! We have received nothing except another bill with another late payment charged and a figure of £260 to pay.

We’re getting nowhere complaining to them. If I give 30 days notice can I cancel? We only watch the football anyway and OH can go to the pub to watch it. What about the outstanding balance? Can they force me to pay it in one go? Just don’t have the cash!

Just don’t know what to do for the best.

I think you are within your rights to ask for a complete breakdown of the charges to your account. And to ask for itemised billing as you are disputing the debt.
But if you were going to cancel the package, then I guess you would have to clear the money they say you owe first. I would go with the first option and see what happens. Of course send the letter recorded to ensure that you know they have received it.

You have to keep services for 12 months otherwise they will charge a cancellation fee - check the terms and conditions in your contract.

With regard to your other problems, I really sympathise. Since joining NTL about 4 years ago I’ve had 3 separate occasions where for months at a time I was overcharged. Each occasion took several letters before NTL would correct my account and refund me. My only advice would be to be tenacious.

I would have left them years ago if the broadband were not so good!

They are a bunch of muppets! I've been writing many many letters to NTL, and now Virgin as they owe me £50 from about 15 months ago! I'm about to start researching the whole small claims court thing, unless I hear something by the end of this week...

Hi Shearerbobs, how's the DMP going? We spoke ages ago when I was first going on a DMP...you asked to be my mutual support partner. I couldn't even find you for a while but glad to see you're back.

NT-Hell sounds like an absolute nightmare...poor you.
