mortgage questions?

hi,

asking for my sister. She has been offered a self cert mortgage with mortgage express, neither of us has heard of them are they any good? It is fixed at 5.59% for 3 years then 2% above bank of england rate.

Also she can make overpayments each month of up to but not more than the normal payment amount. If she does this does this reduce her monthly payment amount normally or reduce the term of the mortgage?

Any help would be good, I know it's only a rough idea Ive given, but only need a rough answer to.

  • meant to say she doesn't have perfect credit either but not awful either no ccjs or anythings like that. Are they normally a lender who is very strict on credit searches?
