my late ma-in-law used plain salt to clean her teeth, and died at 84 with all of her gnashers intact .She was very hard up as a young widow with two small boys from 1937 so couldn't afford much. She also had no fillings either and rarely went to see a dentist, but as my OH used to say she was the 'old wife' that all the tales were written about, as living out in the countryside for years she used to cure her own boys, and my OH first saw a Dr at 18 in 1951 when he joined the RAF.before 1948 Drs cost money which was very scarce so it was kill or cure. His Gran was the local 'lady' who brought half the local kids into the world, and laid you out when you left it :)so she passed a lot of healing stuff on to my ma-in-law0

simple thing - but it works - using olive or sunflower oil as a make-up remover! even the best waterproof mascara is no match for it! and so much cheaper than make up remover pads!
I had a slight mishap yesterday and my gorgeous bottle of garlic infused olive oil slipped from my grasp and toppled over. Some has splashed on the wall by the unit and left a horrible mark on the plain cream paper ,any ideas how to get the grease stain out of wall paper without re-papering I have tried almost everything I can think of. The oil oil is gorgeous and cost me quite a bit so I am really cross with myself
Have you tried covering it with paper towels & with a warm iron see if it will lift it off & into the towel or dusting with talc , leave for a while & brush off, that or other powder may absorb it.0 -
I was going to suggest the same as her mum! if that doesnt work then try very gently dabbing with nail varnish remover (acetone based) and see if that will disperse the oil.0

I always gave my babies weak chamomile or fennel tea rather baby juice. 1 teabag did loads of it, and a cup for me too when I was stressed.
I have always used cooking oil on my face. No nasty parabens to exacerbate my excema. Oil as moisturiser after showering especially on legs.
Evening promrose oil capsule split yeilds loads of oil for hands. Also vit E capsule.
Honey, under a sticking plaster, for cracked hands and psoriorsis(sp?). I used to 'borrow' the one serving set honey pots from hotels and carry one with me. Good for split lips to if you can resist the urge to lick.
can't think of anything else ATM.0 -
