Glastonbury tickets

My friends are going to Glastonbury next year, like a whole bunch and they said I should come but when I went to buy a ticket all of them had gone.

I was told they are doing the ticket system a little different this year as in the tickets are actually registered to your name so they wont be available on eBay, but I just can't believe it usually tickets for V, reading etc are all over eBay.

So I guess I might be missing out next year unless someone knows how I can get one of these tickets?

  • Glast tickets have been registered to your name for a number of years now, so no you cannot buy them on ebay.
Have you registered on glasto site already? if so they sell the returned tickets after Xmas, usually feb time I think, so you may get a chance then, but you need a registration code to be able to buy.

There will be a number of resales and the coach and ticket packages haven't gone on sale yet so you may be able to get one of them. People in the UK who have paid their deposit have the first week in April to pay up in and abroad have to pay up in the last week of February / start of March to pay for their tickets in. So expect the first lot of resales maybe at the end of March and almost certainly towards the end of April.

The photo registration system has been in place since 2007 and while the tickets sell out (normally) very fast (this year 1h 40mins) its great knowing that you'll only ever pay face value for a ticket rather than the inflated prices of ticket touts.

  • Thanks for the info,

Ok well going to register then and hopefully grab a ticket in round two.

Yeah I can see why they would do it now, in the past I have paid a small fortune for kings of leon tickets through ebay.
  • You will find people still advertise tickets, along with a description of the photo. It is a HUGE risk if you buy one of these as not only might you get turned away at the gate, but you lose your money too. Glastonbury is so popular these days that you have to be organised and keen to go, do your research on the ticket buying process (e-festivals forums have tonnes of info) and be very prepared come ticket day. It's hard work but the reward is immense!
