It will be fine, it may have suffered freezer burns which will make it lose some of the flavour but as long as it has been kept frozen there will be no problem eating it.

6 months! is that all?
We found a lump a while back that was over 2 years old, just thawed it out slowly and it cooked up a dream.

absolutely true, I think the best advice I was ever given regarding freezing stuff is that if it wasnt going to kill you , or make you ill when it went in the freezer, it wont when it comes out.Slimming World at target0 -
Six months is nothing. It will be fine. Even the food nannies say beef keeps for 12 months.absolutely true, I think the best advice I was ever given regarding freezing stuff is that if it wasnt going to kill you , or make you ill when it went in the freezer, it wont when it comes out.

I think you will find we all have long forgotten things at the bottom/back of the freezer so really the time is just for the meat to be at its best (flavour wise).
As meg72 says if it wasn't going to kill you going in (as fressh as can be going in) then it won't kill you coming out (even two years later).
Just remember all these things are guides for the best taste for your foods this includes Best Before dates which means what it says Best Before and if you eat after then ts flavour may not be 100%.
Even use by a little common sense on Use BY a day after will not kill you or make you ill if it has been sealed and stored at the right temperature.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Thank you for all your advice it has made me feel a lot better and will now enjoy my roast beef.0
