Wilkinson's - Gift Cards
Trouble74
Back in April this year I bought a Amazon Kindle Gift Card for £25, I didn't use it until September as I wanted to put books on my kindle for when I go on holiday. So I went onto website, entered the code on the back of it and it didn't go through. So I asked Amazon to check and they said that the code wasn't valid.
So I went back to Wilkinson's and because I bought the gift card back in April, I got rid of the receipt thinking there wouldn't be any problems and unfortunately they wouldn't help as I didn't have my receipt even though it's not been used.
Can someone help me as it seems I bought a gift card worth £25 and I can't use it.

How did you pay?
If other than cash then you might be in with a chance, IF you can find the statement showing the purchase.
The problem with these gift cards is they are on open display and not activated until swiped through the till. So (not unreasonably) Wilkinsons will require proof of purchase. It's REALLY important, for this reason, that receipts are retained until the gift card is used. But other proofs of purchase are acceptable.
If, however, it was a cash purchase you are going to struggle. BUT You could write to Wilkinsons Head Office (Worksop or Carlton in Lindrick if memory serves) with detail of purchase (date and time, anything else you might have bought at the same time) and ask nicely if they will activate your card/refund.
