Another update...
I managed to pin DH down to discuss money at last and after some number crunching and short & long term plans. We decided to use my savings (whats left of small amount I inherited) and DS's savings (childrens savings acct that matured last year) that has been sitting in current acct as we didn't know what to do with it and DS doesn't need it yet. Total £3,041 and have used it to pay off the credit card. Just have 1 more payment left of £248 to make in next few days.
We could have taken it off mortgage but decided even though credit card is 0% it hangs over us like a pain in the bum. Therefore, makes sense to get rid and now have to make sure we save DS's savings back up for when he needs it (wont be for at least another year)
WOW can't believe we made such a big decision, it's very liberating and feels goooood!!! (I just hope it was right decision)0 -
Been good this week so far!
-Made a meal plan and have stuck to it every day.
-Have sold at least 2 of 9 things listed on ebay.
-Transferred money from budget acct into current acct for 'other' spends (DH footie, clothes etc)
-Got some of weekly cash in £1 & £2 coins, been a lot easier especially with dinner money/clubs etc.
-Had lunch at home to avoid buying lunch out whilst in work.
-Not so good, didn't have enough on me at post office for a parcel so had to use my card
To do:
-Not use card at all for rest of week.
-Stick to meal plans and make some cookies as have run out.
-Check credit card balance and pay off final amount.
-Put more things on ebay and take stuff to charity shop.
-Start a spreadsheet of all incomings/outgoings0
