Credit Report Query

I've just logged online and checked my report. I re-mortgaged in 2005 from Northern Rock to Halifax.
The Northern Rock loan was a 'Together' mortgage where they give you a 100% mortgage but 5% of it was a loan to act as deposit. The loan part says settled and balance of £0 but the mortgage part says:
Company name: NORTHERN ROCK
Account type: Mortgage
Started: 30/06/2004
Current Balance: £2,458
Settled On: 31/10/2005
File updated for period to: 13/11/2005
I definatly don't owe them anything so what do I do about this, should I be worried?

Can anyone help, or suggest a better forum to post this in?0

I'm not sure, but could you give Northern Rock a ring and confirm if they still think you owe them money?
I wouldn't worry just yet though, as they wouldn't have released their charge over your property (and therefore Halifax wouldn't have been able to register a first legal charge) if you still had secured borrowing with them. And if Halifax had problems registering their charge, they would have contacted you by now."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
They have confirmed I don't owe them money so who knows!0

It's odd that there is still a balance showing on your credit file then - sorry, not sure what else to suggest - did you ask Northern Rock why it would still be on there? But at least you know for sure that you don't owe them the money now."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Got some useless person who didn't really care about my credit file! Think I'll write them a letter and ask them to remove it.0
