Morning all..not feeling so good today, not sure whats wrong just feeling sluggish with no energy. Anyhow, on a bright note DH managed to get two cheeses yesterday so happy about that :j but the Reloaded coupons were refused as the trouty sa said they were photo copies. Had it been me I would have argued the point and gone to cs but it was during his work time so he didn't have time to follow it up. Had a bit of a bad day yesterday, my mum phoned me (she lives on her own 120miles away from me and is 86yrs) and said she fell off a bus, something she seems to keep doing lately I think its do it with them parking too far from the kerb and her trying to reach it. Anyway long story short, she was upset and was talking about going into a home. I have a brother who lives about a 10 min walk from her that can't be bothered to visit . It is so hard for me to get my head around this as she has always been such a strong independent lady. She still goes to the hairdressers on a weekly basis and won't go anywhere without her 'slap' on
. To hear her crumble like this is so upsetting. I did mention to her about moving up with me, she is in Essex, me in Norfolk but she can't get her head around the upheaval of moving all her stuff. She said she just wants to close the door on it and leave it all behind. I really don't know how to handle this. I speak to her on a daily basis and stay with her when I can but I am not getting any younger myself & the train journey is not easy. I just wish my younger brother was a little more helpful but the last time I asked him to go and see her he accused me of trying to tell him what to do and we ended up not speaking for five years. Anyway, sorry to be so down but it's just nice to be able to tell someone. What to do.....
aww just wanted to say about simlier situation i was in
my gran was always falling when she got to the later stage in life and she was an independant lady who like you say wouldnt even answere the door with out slap on lol:D but we all work so couldnt call around and visti evey day (used to make us so sad )
evenchly one day she anounched she was moving her self in to a home for the elderly as not only would it be better for her shed have company and some one to cook and clean for here made us laugh:rotfl::rotfl: but she loves it where she is (we put here in privet care as state ones are full but honestly she loves it shes always on day trip and baking and shes got lots of friends now shes sees all the time and a on site hairdressers that like a proper salon
so maybe if she want to go to a home it might make this better for your mum to go while shes willing to go as some times when they need the help despately they wont take it (i mean if she dosnt want to move with you first ) my gran wouldnt come live with us she saif we were to nosie for here lol
hope this helps its just what iv ben throu no sayinng any one shuld listen0 -
Did anyone in Devon or Cornwall hear this yesterday?

I must be too far west, this was the first I heard. Also just seen that Natwest in Truro has found a 'suspicious package', they are awaiting the bomb disposal squad, hope it turns out to be nothing.Gwrys yn Kernow! :j0
