Need a new shampoo/conditioner

I have just recently found organic surge and have been so happy with their shampoo and condition I have placed a second order to stock up as all the shampoo and conditioner is £3 at the moment - I think this was on the grabit board. I have used the shampoo and conditioner a few times now and have had compliments on how good my hair looks. It is super shiny too although I have been doing a cool rinse which does help. I'm using the moisture surge set at the moment but I bought a selection of different shampoos and conditioners as the postage is free for orders over £20. I think I have enough to last a year or two as I only wash my hair 2 or 3 times a week as it is curly. Hope this helps.0

same got two organic surge shampoos, got the shower gel too and my spots on my back and shoulders seem to be going. i went back and ordered the handwash now as the skin on the back of my hands was itching and when i used my bio d washing up liquid to wash my hands, the itching stopped.
naturallythinking is 10 pounds for 1000ml so 2.50 per 250ml and organic surge is 3 pounds per 250ml so hardly any difference.0 -
Thanks!! Lots for me to look at now, and thanks for the personal opinions too!0

Gentlest surfactant I know is cocoamidopropyl betaine

You might also consider conditioner-only washing since your hair doesn't get dirty, much gentler on the hair and scalp. Don't use traditional soap on the hair and scalp, they are highly alkaline, whereas both skin and hair are naturally acidic.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Fire Fox you know everything... I'm just gonna pm you all my questions in future if that's ok LOL!!
I have thought about CO washing and have tried it once or twice a week for a while now, is it something you can do all the time or does hair need shampoo once a week? It doesn't get greasy but it does get sweaty when I've been running. I have tried googling CO washing but read some quite conflicting info, some say use the cheapest conditioner you can get, some say use silicone free, some say you still need to shampoo and can't CO wash all the time, some say don't ever buy shampoo again.... and so on!!
I am drawn more to this company than the others for some reason, but can't back that up with a decent reason!! http://www.handmadenaturals.co.uk/ Some of their soap bars are suitable for hair too and they're cheaper than shampoo, I could then use the one product all over!!
I also thought I might also get something from one of those companies for a friends birthday present. However I noticed some of them said 'not suitable for use in pregnancy' and my friend is trying to conceive. Is there anything in particular I should avoid for her, or should I just leave that idea for next year and get her something else this year?0 -

Edited: Hmmm, not sure it's really all that natural!!

Crikey! Haircare jargon! I don't know where I got the idea Tigi was sls/paraben free but I must have read it, I'm pretty sure, on the Tigi website. Which is down right now. I'm going to check this out later.
Thanks for the heads up. Not that I'm throwing it away - there's tons of it left!0 -
LOL I wouldn't throw it away either, it's not cheap!! I've still got some other conditioners to use up and I won't throw those away, I just want something more natural for when these run out. I am almost out of shampoo. I've been using Body Shop, but for all it's advertising it's no better than anything else!!
Anyway Tigi isn't as bad as some, the detergent is the one Fire Fox mentioned in a lot of their shampoos, and it's only two of their shampoos that contain SLS. Don't know which one you've got though...0 -

I think it depends on the variety. I have the heat protectant one which is definitely SLS free. It's ok and smells lovely, but I don't think I'd repurchase it. But yes, there's loads in TK Maxx at the moment, I can't see the version I have on their website so I guess they're rebranding it all.
I'm thinking about switching to the curly girl method which I read about in another thread here. It's conditioner wash only as my natural hair is very curly - tired of forcing it to be straight!0 -
Yeah, I found the curly girl link too but also found it to be confusing. I don't have curly hair, it's naturally wavy but you wouldn't call it curly. However I was looking at the care methods recommended and for some reason just got confused by it all.... I'm not the brightest star in the sky!!0

Hello. Have you had a look at Lush's products? They use natural organic ingredients wherever possible and have a big range of shampoos, solid shampoos and soaps (which can be used for hair) and I love them! Godiva shampoo and conditioner bar is my favourite! If you don't have a store near you, take a look on https://www.lush.co.uk. XA Bag A Month Challenge member0
