Auto Enrolement

Just had a lovely letter from my company.

Due to auto enrolment, they are taking this time to look at all aspects of the business.

Overtime
Working hours
Expenses
Sick Pay
etc etc

reading between the lines, auto enrolement is gonna cost us - we are looking for savings.

Any one else's compnay done this?

No not mine but i did have a similar thought the other day. It is an awful lot of money they have to find even if the percentage they have to contribute is small. I think what prompted the thought was a comment made elsewhere that it would be better for employers to pay employees more if they opt out.

I doubt this would be permitted but if there is no pension scheme there would be a cost in setting one up. I also wonder whether firms with existing pebsion schemes will extend them or bring in one with higher fees or costs to the employee
