While there is an argument on fairness that your file should state it is settled on your part, technically the account is not settled unless you both went BR.
Seems that in most cases the 2nd interpretation prevails, but may be worth a go anyway.
But should this debt just fall off after 6 years regardless? I'm worried now that I'm always going to be stuck with this mill stone around my neck.0 -

You don't need to be cautious with them, they don't charge, I've been with them for about 8 months.0
