Could you push soft fruit through a sieve and dilute it with a bit of fruit juice?Life is mainly froth and bubble

How about making rocky road / flapjack type thing that just involves mushing biscuits/syrup/peanut butter together? My 5 yr olds make this and you can use peanut butter as the 'glue' if a suitable margarine cant be found.0

WOW! So many more things to think about
The skills we are teaching during that session are slicing (with proper sharp knives ), snipping and stirring so I think we can add mashing and come up with something suitable. Definitely mayo for the savoury version though.

Simplest sweet dip I can think of would be a thick raspberry coulis; simple syrup, mashed raspberries, stir together, strain (for purists), thicken with icing sugar if need be.
Sliced fruit for dipping?
Mix three parts apple puree with 1 part nut butter (I use cashew, peanut will work) sweeten and spice to taste. Sweetener could be honey, golden syrup ect, spicing could be cinnamon, nutmeg, mixed spice (works really well with mulled wine spices for a Christmas dip)

has anyone mentioned guacamole ? lots of squishing involved in that ! I'd probably not use chili though, and just go for tomatoes, garlic, coriander and lime as flavourings"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510

Oatly do a vegan cream that is soya free. It could be a base for a sweet dip, if you flavour it with fruit. You can buy it in supermarkets and health food shops.0

could you do something with meringue nests or jelly? yum!Blah0

Lol, the healthy- eating police would have me dragged orf in chains if I presented them with meringues! I think we'll do something mayonnaisey for the savoury and maybe the apple puree/ nut butter as the sweet version. The focus is on the cutting/ chopping/ mixing at this stage, and we can cover all of those with that.
I hope that others find this thread as useful as I have! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
Hummus or any other white bean dip - they can just mash up tinned chickpeas - it need not have lots of garlic or other ingredients that they wouldn't like, just mix in a little (olive) oil and chp in some herbs.
It's lovely with carrots & red peppers to dip in itA waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
