Can anyone recommend an umbrella company? I have to be paid through one, but the one I have been directed to will be charging a fee., which will be 10% of my wages. :eek:I am sure I can get one for less.

I have used contractor umbrella before i set up my limited company. Couldn't fault them. I remember them being quite reasonable as well.0

Be aware some of these are off shore & if they go out of business, your money goes with them, you have NO financial protection. No one said it was gonna be easy!0

What sort of amounts are you earning? 10% is evidently high if your earnings are high but if your work is periodic and low paid it may be cheaper. Most umbrellas are circa £25-30 a week
Certainly would echo about thinking very carefully about going with any overseas scheme offering you 90%+ of your revenues! Not only the risk of them going bust but also payment is normally erratic to help mask what they're doing and they also tend to do very complex transactions which you'll really struggle to try and unpick if you ever find it necessary to do so.0 -
I used http://www.cellbrite.co.uk/ used them since 2004 and never had any issues. I have since setup my own ltd company abroad as well as one here to maximise my money0

I contracted via Parasol for a time, and I found them to be professional and basically did what they said. The items that you can claim as expenses are clearly laid out, and the payment runs are regular. I would have no issues using them again.
However, it did seem to be an expensive way of doing things, compared to having your own limited company.0 -
