Universal pricing at ASDA

Just out of interest, how much are folks paying for bread in different areas? We always used to pay over the odds here in Northern Ireland and I wonder if this is still the case. Asda sell Hovis white sliced for £1.25 and local shops are about £1.40 although our corner shop has asked £1.59 recently.

Wage wise at Iceland (which tbh already has universal pricing AFAIK, at least for all own branded products) you get £6.90 outside of inner London, £7.40 within I believe, though I can check that as we have a table showing wages to push the fact that bar Tesco who pay £7.14 an hr, we're the second best retailer pay wise. Best is if you're a driver delivering groceries though, Tesco pay something like £7.40 to their drivers as a standard wage, where as it's £8.15 here. I think a 50-60p wage increase for inner London is similar in competition, Tesco and the likes. I'd imagine it's not at all enough to account for higher housing costs. But then wages for basic retail staff are never about a living wage tbh.
