I've googled on line but still seem to be having no success, maths is not my strong point, its for an NHS job
I've got an interview for a domestic, I think the wage will be above the minimum but all it states is
£14,153 to £14,864 per annum pro rata
and the post is 17.5 hrs per week
Would be grateful if somone could give me an idea of the hourly rate, or monthly wage, many thanks in advance

Guessing that full time is 35 hours a week your starting wage would be £7,077 (perhaps slightly higher if you can negotiate them upwards).
If full time is 37 or 40 hours your salary would be less - £6694 or £6192 respectively.
So around £5-600 per month take home pay.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

The salary stated in the advert is for a full time job and the pro rata bit means ' in proportion' to the hours worked.luvvlyjubbly wrote: »I've googled on line but still seem to be having no success, maths is not my strong point, its for an NHS job

So say for example a full time roll is 35 hours then 17.5 hrs is 50% of this so it would be £14,153 to £14,864 diveded by 2 to give you 50% which is £7076 to £7432 for the 17.5 hours0 -
The maths is: full-time salary, divided by number of full time hours, multiplied by the number of hours you are going to do.
So, assuming the full-time hours would have been 35 hours, your rate of pay would work out to be:
14153/35*17.5 = £7076.50
to
14864/35*17.5 = £7432.
Take home for a whole month would be £589 - £619.0 -
thanks very much x
fingers crossed now ....Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0 -

What you do is to divide the wage by 37.5 , then multiply by 24, to get the pro rata wage. If you do this at the bottom of this payscale you get £9058. Then plus this into any website which sorts out take home pay, like http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/salary.php. Plug in the normal tax code 810L, and you get
Yearly £9,058.0
Monthly £754.83
Weekly £174.19
(Just over £7.25 per hour take home pay)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
