hello everyone i apologise for the length of this post but its a long story.
i qualified as a registered nurse in february 2005 where i secured employment for 15 months in a lovely hospital with a great staff team. last june i gained employment as an e grade nurse in a smaller hospital.........
since then we have had three different charge nurses and the rest of my registered colleagues treat me like a total incompitent idiot. I have a long history of depression and i went off sick for 6 months with depression.
i am currently on phased return to work as i am in recovery from this particular bout of depression which my nurse manager agreed was caused by work problems.
since my return to work nothing has changed and my colleages repeately undermine me and ignore my suggestions of caring for the patients.
i am seeking employment elsewhere but am very wary of getting a reference from my current employers and my bad sickness record will go against me.
how on earth so i get round this horrible situation
regards
mrs a

You need urgent support from a (preferably) nursing union rep especially before a fitness to practise issue may arise. Talk over you concerns with your rep has there is much that can be done to resolve what may be bullying.Arrange a self referral to OH for a review and to bring your case notes up to date. What support mechanisms have been put in place to support you - this should have been discussed and agreed when your phased return was implemented? You really must speak to your local steward for assistance as there may be grounds to raise a grievance both against management and you co-workers.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

I would reiterate the words of ohreally.
Best of luck with getting back on your feet Mrs A xGone ... or have I?0 -
sorry to hear this Mrs A.
I have freinds in nursing, and both of them have had similar experiences, ( altohugh they havent gone off sick, but they have been "moved" ) and this is all because they make suggestions where the patients health & welfare come first they have been seen as troublemakers
have you kept a diary of the suggestions you have made of patietn care & the response? if not try to fashion one as best as you can from memory.
At the end of the day you wenr into the profession to care not to be bullied.
I would speak to your union on this one - and PRONTO! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
