My daughter has asked for "real" pearls for her 21st. I have no idea about the quality and/or price of pears, and wondered whether anyone could recommend a reputable jewellers in Glasgow who might be able to help.
Is it something which it would be unwise to buy over the internet, as I have no idea of quality, but want to get something decent?

Have a wee look at the Jersey Pearl website - they have a gorgeouse shop in Jersey which we visit when we are there on holiday - and I have bought online, as have 2 others in the office - one for on her wedding day, the other was for someones 50th birthday. hope that helps - they do have some places that sell their jewellery on the mainland. hope that helps.

I gave my wife a pearl necklace in Glasgow, afraid I don't remember the exact location.

But seriously, I think a visit to the Argyle Arcade may be a good idea.

alternatively one of the antique dealers might have some real ones at a cheaper price. (you could try the shop on dumbarton rd near the big salvation army shop- but i guess with antinque dealers there's no guarantees they'd have any)
