ING Direct sold to Barclays

Read on BBC that ING Direct has been sold to Barclays which includes the deposits book and the mortgage book.
I was lucky to get a mortgage from ING years ago after reading about it here and have enjoyed .9% above base rate interest on my mortgage.
I am sure there are others too in similar boat. It would be good to keep a close eye on this development since Barclays might decide to change the terms at some point.

I was just about to post the same thing , currently on the same rate as yourself.
Can barclays change the terms and increase the rate in line with their current products when we are signed up to a certain deal ?
If so I will be paying another £100 a month over what Im currently paying.0 -
I notice ING track above BOE rate whereas Barclays track above their own rate. They have said they intend to pull all the purchased customer accounts into Barclays so watch out for them trying to switch one for the other.MFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%

Barclays have quite a few customers on better rates than that (less than 0.2% above base rate) and, so far, they haven't tried to wriggle out of the deal.

I'll be closing my ING accounts pronto, I hate Barclays and their business practices and the way they treat their customers with a passion."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
