Excessive Absence Dismissal
ED-209

I've had a large amount of absences at work this year & am pretty sure i'm about to be dismissed.
Would this dismissal be put down as misconduct? If it is put down as misconduct would i then be sanctioned if i tried to sign on to JSA?
I know you are sanctioned for GM but can't find any info on misconduct dismissals.

Was the absence due to sickness or did you just not turn up?
If sickness did you properly self certify for the first seven days then provide doctor's certificates?0 -
I've had 2 blocks of 3 weeks which were all supported by doctors sick notes.
I was back in work for 3 months & was then off for a further week which was self cert.
I was in constant contact with the company & updated them on my situation.
After these absences i was disciplined & told my absence must improve.
It has been 4 months since i was given this warning. I am currently off work again & will be self cert for the week.0 -
It will depend on your adviser and your exact situation but when I lost a job due to an overzealous sickness policy and absence I didn't have a problem claiming. (No guarantees though).0
