They do scan at Tescos, but the price in the barcode is "000" and this prompts the till to ask for a price.

I used two on self scans on Saturday and they come up "information required" and need store log-in and price input by the supervisor. But they were happily accepted all the same, along with about 20 other coupons each time - mainly Tesco ones, though I did buy the actual product for a change!!

I guess that means they don't scan. The assistant has a manual option on each till which I guess they are having to do. But who cares ;) providing we get our money off. Well done on getting your other 20 coupons accepted.

Thanks - I pre-registered a while back, but never got the reminder email they promised.

Had forgotten all about it until now.

Suppose it depends on what you mean by "scan". In my book they do scan ie till physically reads barcode, and in this case the till is doing exactly the correct thing having scanned the coupon. The barcode is deliberately set (price = 000) to make till prompt for a price input.

So no they do not need to use the full "manual option" which is normally for non-scanning coupons eg ones with fuzzy or damaged barcodes (so they can't physically scan them) or as an over-ride for anything the till doesn't recognise as a coupon (eg doesn't start 99) or wrongly rejects even though bought the correct product etc.

The main thing is that you should be able to get your free Lucozade in Tesco even though previous posts were suggesting the coupons didn't work there.
