Sangria for 60?

Hi - You have all been so helpful with the last few questions I have asked so helping someone will have an answer for this...

I need to make Sangria for 60 - this is a free event I am throwing so need to keep costs as low as possible.

Any idea what sort of volume of liquid I should be going for (am thinking of just bulking red wine out with orange juice and Lemonade)

Thanks again!!

It really depends on the size of your cups / glasses, if you know that then you can easily do the maths!

A standard disposable plastic cup is usually around 200-250 ml, so if using those you would need around 15 litres of sangria, plus add a bit for fudge factor - I would aim for 18-20 litres and plan to have a little left over, or let some people have seconds while it lasts.

I don't know how much orange juice & lemonade you would add to a 750ml bottle of wine - but at a guess I think you will use about 500ml of each, which means you will need 4-5litres each of orange juice and lemonade, and 9 litres of wine (12 standard bottles).

Obviously these are ballpark figures based on my guesses. The numbers will be very different if your cup size is bigger or smaller, and if the recipe calls for a different quantity of oj/lemonade... Once you know those numbers, ask here again if you can't work it out and we can help!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

It might not be as cheap as doing it yourself but LIDL often have a good value (and quite nice tasting) Sangria in stock. Maybe worth a look.
