Obviously, the wristbands mentioned above are raising money for charity, as are quite a few others at the mo. (namely British Heart Foundation-Red, Livestrong Prostate Cancer - Yellow, Breast Cancer - Pink) So, I was horrified when in Clintons Cards yesterday to find Friendship wristbands (exactly the same) for 99p each. I asked if any of the money went to charity and the woman behind the counter was actually quite embarassed. Later in the Market they were selling them for £2.00.. UNBELIEVABLE... I think everyone should totally ignore these so called friendship bands and teach these money grabbing people a lesson. :mad:0

I have a blue band from Radio 1's Beat Bullying campaign. I thought these bands were a great idea for charities and awareness. I too felt disheartened when I went into a phone accessory shop and saw bands being sold as a fashion accessory! I felt disgusted that companies are cashing in on charity initiatives and taking away the messages these charities are trying to give out.
I agree with brackenlily - they should be boycotted!!0 -
On the very same site they have a use for your old mobiles.
Not a bad swap deal I would suggest.

Do you have an old mobile phone gathering dust somewhere? Probably, because there are some 90 million of them out there. Now your phone can help fight hunger around the world!
For example it could provide the money for a day's food for a child orphaned by AIDS in Zimbabwe. A newer model could even become chickens or fruit trees to provide food and an income for someone's future.
That's why we have launched our Phones for Food campaign in partnership with mobile phone recycling company ShP Solutions.
It's such an easy way to make a difference!
It's a freepost address to send your phones off, so it only costs the price of an envelope to help.Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0 -
got mine through the post this morning, they loook like Hospital bands that u wear in a wardon, but it says make world vision make poverty history0
