Help - Wrong meat !!

I know i should label my meat when i put it in the freezer, but i am usually very good at working out whats in the bag, but today i have defrosted what i thought was chicken breast, only to find its turkey fillets (you know the ones you do a stir fry with....

Now i as unsure what to do, i have already cooked the Potatos and veg for the dinner

Would you use the turkery ( and how would you cook it) or would you defrost chicken breast and use the turkey tomorrow.....

Ideas please

I'd just fry the turkey strips with onion and mushrooms, then serve with the spuds and veg.

I'd use the turkey how I intended to use the chicken.

I'd just serve them the same as you would have done with the chicken. :)

Well it's far too late to defrost the chicken and the two are pretty much interchangeable...

At least you didn't do what one of my friends did............ found out that the meat she had defrosted was erm (shhh) testicles!!!! She chopped them up really small and chucked them in a curry! No-one was any the wiser! Obviously she had already eaten by the time the rest of the family came in!! LOL

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

  • Wow I must be terrible, I use turkey instead of chicken all the time - nobody notices it, probably because I've been doing it so long they've forgotton what chicken tastes like, other than as a roast :rotfl:

I wouldn't have a problem with eating... more interesting parts of the anatomy. As long as it tasted nice!
  • I would just serve like chicken, you could poach in stock or water and the fillets will be lovely and tender
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
