Where to buy Sake

Does anyone have any recommendations about where to buy Sake or know if there's anything commonly available that could be substituted when cooking?
I have a few recipes that call for it that I would like to try but haven't seen it in the supermarkets.

Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

If you have a Chinese supermarket near you, they generally sell Sake. There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0

Well, I say Chinese supermarket but the one in Leeds sells all kinds of Oriental goods including Japanese and Thai. Not that that's of any use as you don't have one nearby!
It seems Asda sell it though, according their website. Doragan Sake, £5.78 for a 50cl bottle. There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0 -

And sainsburys.
Sherry is an ok-ish substitute. But sake is the best. Get some mirin as well, you need both. Mirin is in the ingredients section, sake is in the alcohol aisleI could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
