Crab apple juice/jelly

I gathered some crab apples from the garden today, cooked them to mush and left them to drain through a teatowel into a bowl.

I didn't press them through the fabric, but I did pop a weighted plate on top.

The juice (which I intended to use in a chilli jelly recipe) is pretty cloudy. Does that mean it will make a cloudy jelly? Should I have strained it through muslin (I don't have any)-is a teatowel too coarse?

Thanks for your help!

When cooked up with the sugar it will go clear. The slight cloudiness is the pectin in the juice.
