It's the unexpected star of BBC's hit Seventies police series Life On Mars.

For the 33-year-old Ford Cortina thrown around Manchester's streets by Detective Chief Inspector Gene Hunt - actor Philip Glenister - has recaptured the hearts of the nation's motoring public.

A generation of drivers more used to the bland efficiencies of the Ford Mondeo has watched the show's car stunts and been enraptured by the Cortina Mark III 2000E, with its Copper Bronze metallic paintwork, factory- fitted vinyl roof, thick-pile carpets, wood trim and push-button radio.

How to enter

For your chance to win the Life On Mars Cortina call 0904 043 5016 and leave your name and daytime telephone number.

Calls cost £1.50. All profit (£1) from each call will be given to Comic Relief.

Calls should not exceed one minute. (Some networks do not provide the facilities to connect to this service or may charge a premium rate. Please contact your network provider in case of difficulties.)

Or you can email your entry by sending your name and telephone number to mars@mos.entries.co.uk

Free entry by email as above.

I searched, and looked, hope it's not on.

Good luck for all of those who remember the old Cortina - or would like to drive one.

Ace! I applied in hubby's name but after seeing it I want it. Is it one entry per household or person do you know?

It does not say, but it states normal MOS rules applies. My guess is, one per household.
