Lovely replies! I knew when it started to get colder as I had 3 cats and a dog all clustering near me when I sat on the sofa, whereas before they all had individual remote perches (edit - welll the dog isn't much of a percher!)

Old office trick I have mentioned on here before - sit with your feet in an empty photocopy paper box and it seems to keep the rest of your body warm(er)

Dollardog, I wish you could get your heating fixed, we did the spot heating thing for years and I am sure it worked out dearer in the long run
