Recommendations for tradesmen near Perth?

hi Shona, I live just north of Perth as well and am constantly renovating houses so know some tradesmen! Mackay Decorators in Perth are good, they painted the outside of my last house and it was over 50 feet high! Otherwise I use Alan Sherriff from Meigle for all my decorating, he does some outside work as well.
Gardening work, if you find someone let me know! I'm desperately seeking someone to gut my garden and am struggling as well.
Guttering, I've used Peter Drummond in Meigle for guttering in the past, really good guy, good prices as well. All the numbers are in Yellow Pages.
Plumbers usually do guttering and we use Frank Mcsomething in Bankfoot for this house, pm me if you want his number.
Good luck!0 -
Thanks for those ideas. I have had a few quote already, but most are frankly outrageous!
£1200 + vat for painting 6 small window and soffit boards.
£480 + vat for replacing 2 small amounts of guttering.
I've had a couple of guys look at the garden but I'm waiting for the quotes to come through.
I found a guy's name in the post office, and his quote is for ~£400 for the painting, and he might be able to replace the worst bit of guttering while he's up there, sounds much better!
I really do think that some tradesmen must have too much work, so just quote high - if they get the work they make a fortune, if they don't get the work, they're not bothered...
I do know a good (and good-priced) guy for cleaning carpets from Bankfoot if you ever need that done...!
Thanks again

We did think about it - the quotes were so high we thought about buying scaffolding even!!
But the recent lower quote for painting makes me think it would be easier to get someone to do it.
It is a house we rent out you see, so there's extra hassle in going there etc...

I moved Shona, the name's now misleading!
I used to live in an old hospital, and we spent 4 years renovating it - it was unbelievable the quotes we used to get from some tradesmen, they would literally look at the size of the house, think that we were loaded, and quote accordingly - little did they know the house was taking all the money! We got 3 quotes to do something, i can't remember what, two of them were £300 and one was £700! We found this two or three times with different jobs we were doing.0
