Sony 3D TV Amazon Offer

My current main TV packed in this morning and because a repair is not going to be worth it, decided it was time to replace and upgrade to 3D which I'd been toying with for a while.

Ended up choosing this 40" Sony off Amazon as it was the best price I could find on the net anyway - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-KDL40HX753BU-40-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B007M8E8WO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349546709&sr=8-1

They're also doing an offer where if you order it with the double pack 3D glasses http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-TDGBR250-Glasses-Pack-Pairs/dp/B008580Z36/ref=pd_sim_recht_2 you get "upto 50% discount" - normal price for these is £69.99 which is a bit steep considering you can get the single pairs for about £28 off Amazon as well.

When I added one double pack to my basket it deducted £104 so not only was I getting the glasses free, it was knocking £35 off the TV too. If I added a second pack, the total price stayed the same so I got the second lot free too, same for adding a third pack and a fourth. Once you add a fifth it justs adds them at full price.

So in the end I've ordered a TV and four double packs of glasses for £35 LESS than the price of the TV on it's own. Seems too good to be true so we'll see what happens but thought I should share. Offer apparently runs till December 24th - offer covers 7 different models from 32" upwards.

Maybe I didn't go far enough,I was worried it was gonna charge me the full price as it hadn't taken anything off in the basket.

My 8 pairs of glasses (4 x 2 pack) arrived yesterday and the TV today so all good. Spare glasses will be on eBay shortly.

Also seen buying the same TV you get a Lovefilm code where after they take the second monthly payment, you get a £50 Amazon voucher which is not to be sneezed at as I was considering a subsription anyway. Code thing only runs till October 30th.
