No No No, don't get a loan. You need to tackle your spending habits first and try and deal with the bedts you have. The chances are you won't be able to get a lona as your earnings are low and your debts are high. Choose the debt that is charging you the highest rate of interest and concentrate on paying it off. Make sure you continue to make the minimum repayments on everything else. Once one debt is cleared move onto the next.0

Just a thought but is there anything you can sell to make a bit of extra money? Any bank charges you can reclaim?0

Im not sure how much other people get paid, i am just a labourer i will speak to my dad and see if i can get a wage increase or at least he maybe able to help me out a little with my debts. Do you think i should try and get a loan to pay all my debts, so i only have to pay one company? If so is there anybody who will take on a person in my situation?
thanks again for all the help
Dragon I agree with the other posters about asking your dad for a pay rise and asking for advice about managing your money problems. But not with the idea of asking him to help you out with paying your debts - I'm sure he can see where your money goes (down the drain) and has no intention of giving you more to put there.
Re wanting to keep up with your mates - I can understand this. Turn it around though - say you've decided to save for a trip round the world/mortgage/whatever. And why not sign yourself and your g/f up for a charity run - you can get out of at least one meal out a week by saying you've got to watch your training diet.
Don't buy your g/f new trainers/outfits to go running in. Tell her to do it for charidee.

Hi dragons1, just read this thread. Why don't you have a look at how much a reasonable salary for a labourer would be, what you would take home each month, and then how much it would cost you to rent a room + bills + food shopping and then you will have a better idea if what your dad is paying you is fair or not.
Can you get the bus/coach to see your girlfriend? Or have a look at the article on this site about cutting train fares by booking multiple journeys.
As your girlfriend is understanding and supportive about your financial situation, you should embrace this. You only have to read through some of the other threads on this board to realise how much worse it could be.
Perhaps you could learn to cook (if you can't already!), a lovingly prepared meal at home is just as nice as going to a restaurant - she will appreciate your effort. Or take her on a romantic lunchtime picnic - lovely in this weather!
And as a previous poster has suggested, try some moneysaving socialising ideas - here are some - (already mentioned) eat in instead of going out - if you have friends to dinner get them to bring wine/dessert and then make sure they invite you round next time! Have a BBQ - get friends to bring beer + something to BBQ - then you will have loads of sausages and burgers left over and will not have to go shopping for weeks! Have a playstation evening (if you have one) and get friends to bring beer. Have a DVD evening with nibbles instead of going to the cinema.
OK, end of essay! Let us know how you get on!0
