Having spent some time reading the diaries on this board, I noticed how helpful they can be in keeping people motivated, so I have decided to start my own.
I had made a little promise to myself to clear my Credit Card Debts by June 2013.
Having done the figures, I have 237 days and £2870.82 of debt.
The good news is that sits on a CC at 0% until 2014.
I know it doesn't sound like a lot of debt, and I could probably clear it by Christmas, however I have reserved a house and the deposit is payable in June 2013, so all my spare pennies need to go towards that.
I'd like to go into the mortgage without the CC's but don't want to clear the CC's using deposit money (makes more sense to sit in the ISA/Savings Accounts than pay debts that aren't costing interest) so my aim is to pay them off with 'extra' money, ie not my wages.
It's basically my own 'Make £10 a day' challenge, but I thought having my own diary to churn out my ramblings might help keep me motivated.
(I do have other debts, including a loan and car finance but as they are fixed terms have decided not to overwhelm myself and just concentrate on the CC's)
So starting today I will try to make that extra £12.11 per day, wish me luck! I'm off to start ebaying

Didn't get much done on the ebay front, got distracted by other things (such as choosing my kitchen for the apartment, EXCITED!) but did scramble together all the loose change lurking about the house and cars and found £21.36 which can be banked, not a lot but it's a start and covers today's £12.11 anyway.0

Good luck. I like the way you've set yourself small, manageable goals. £21.36 is nearly two days' worth! It's amazing how loose change adds up. My daughter has saved about £30 this from change from school dinner money and it's going straight in her mobile phone fund!0
