Hi, not sure if this is the right part of the forum for this, but...
i was made redundant about 3 months ago, i have only just got my p45, and the date for leaving is 2 months before i actualy left !
the tax is all wrong also. Is this going to cause a problem in the future, and at the moment for claims and things, how do i sort this out ? any ideas how it effects my tax, as i have records for 3 months of pay when the p45 says its been only 1 month ?
Thanks
Fred

Its HMRC you should contact, however it is only law for the employer to issue the P45, there is no requirement for them to supply the correct information. That is the employees duty to check the details and get it amended if they are wrong, which can be really hard to do.
Its no wonder its so easy to defraud HMRC for tax and employers get away with it, but it would be very costly for it to be enforcable that the detail needs to be correct.0
