Buying cosmetics off eBay

They are glitches, special offers, sometimes GWPs (free gifts with purchases).
No7 has also just recently changed the packaging on all its skincare and cosmetic ranges, and the "old" range was sold off at half price and better instore to make way for the new packaging, less than 2 months ago.
That's great info, thanks.
I just checked the adverts I was looking at before and it's the new packaging so it can't have been the stuff from 2 months ago!! Maybe they were the free gifts?!
Still unsure but I might sleep on it and give it a go!0 -

Never thought of that!
I was looking at the protect and perfect eye cream and I can get it on eBay for £8.98. The seller has over 10 available so can't imagine it'll be something they've got free!
I think there was a bulk buy deal online with Boots recently for P&P products, which would have made one bottle of it significantly cheaper than the ebay price.
or, even currently (and offer just ending instore) - one tube is £15, but its 342 at the moment, so 3 tubes is £30, and there are NO7 money off vouchers too, which would bring it down to £25 for the 3 tubes. Plus the seller would have collected Boots points for every time they bought these products in Boots, and they might have an over-60s card which gives them more discount in Boots too.0 -
What I tend to do is buy a sample size of the product on EBay, to see if I get on with it, and then buy the actual product from amazon or from the shop. If it's something that's going on your skin it's important, I think, to buy it from a reputable source.
I think I know how some of the sample sizes get onto EBay, - many companies give out free samples of something. Some people grab a few free samples (with no intention of using them) and then flog them on EBay and make a profit.0 -
IMHO the only way to make a profit selling stuff bought with special offers etc, is to pretend to be a private seller (thus not paying taxes, and listing for free). And even so ebay's and paypal's fees are not cheap, + the cost items lost and returns.
I never buy from dodgy 'private' sellers who just 'happen' to have lots of products to sell that can't possibly have been for personal use.
If someone has been able to sell profitably on ebay, legitimately as a business, just buying stuff on sale etc, they must be very clever, considering how time consuming it must be to be searching for all the offers etc.0 -
I've bought & sold beauty goodies online. Only had one problem. Someone sold me a fake Benefit PorefessionalCC1 - [STRIKE]£8746[/STRIKE] £2801 71%
