Ps - can any peeps help me salvage a burnt pan?
My wee cat wasn't well last night (first time ever), but she's picked up today, thank goodness and touch wood because she means the world to me. :A
However, all this was going on while i was cooking me dinner and errrrm one of my pans got a tad burnt while i was seeing to her. Manage to salvage me veggies and thought a good soak of the pan through the night would sort it - to no avail. It's black.
Anyone got a tip on how I clean it?

Years ago we'd use soda crystals.
Luckily most of my saucepans are glass or non stick so you can scrub away to your hearts content.0 -

in case vid don't work..
Melissa Maker, cleaning expert, shows Tamara how to clean a burnt pan - they are usually so hard to clean but with this amazing trick, it's easy to handle! By using baking soda and dish soap with a bit of heat, the pan becomes clean in under a minute. Check it out!
Tamara asked: What's the quickest way to clean uber dirty pots and pants?
Answer:
What you need-
1) Dirty pot/pan/dish
2) A few drops of dish soap
3) 2 tablespoons baking soda
4) Water
5) Cleaning toothbrush/double-sided sponge
For stainless steel cookware:
To start, add a few drops of dish soap to the dirty pan. Next, you'll need to add 1 tablespoon of baking soda and fill the pan ¼ of the way with water. Put the pan on high and let it simmer for a while. Once the pot has simmered for a few minutes, pour the hot liquid down the drain. BE CAREFUL! The pot will be very hot. Add another tablespoon of baking soda to the pan and use either the cleaning toothbrush or the double-sided sponge to scrape away stuck on grease. Rinse with water and enjoy you're sparkly clean pan!
For a casserole dish: Put it in the oven for a few minutes until it starts to simmer. The heat will speed up the process of breaking down the soot.
For copper cookware: Replace the baking soda with coarse salt and add to an inch of simmering water and soap.
freezing out there again so off for a hot shower & some nice hot porridge

Its lovely and sunny here in Durham but very cold and frosty. DH is taking me out for lunch today so must get on with some of my list before I go.
FireFly that Choc Roulade looks delicious, I am going to save mine for tonight when I feel hungry, always hungry at night for some reason. Thanks:T
Sheils, good luck with the dentist, hate the places myself. Hope you win your lunch by the time you get to Greggs. Well done.
Alfie - you can call my Sylvia or Sylv whichever you feel like. Good luck with the pan.
Iluvcats - read the thread about removing burn off the pans thanks will try and remember next time I burn mine. Do you actually have snow where you are at the moment?
B.Sue, not long now till you pick up your pup. Just thought I would mention. Do you have a Vets4Pets anywhere near you. They do a thing where you pay for your first injections + £100 and you never have to pay again, just go every year, they ckeck you dog over and give him the booster. You don't even have to use them as your regular vet either. Just thought I would mention it just in case.
What you up to today Wingo, busy as usual I expect.
Hope you have a good day at work Becks.
Have a good day Katie and anyone else I have forgot.
