i have recently been contacted about investing my pension into a sipp
by a company called gravity global investments, my concern is that they are investing in child care homes and the returns on the investment look to be good but the paperwork provided rings a few alarm bells has anyone got any information on this company or have they had dealings with them.
any info would be appreciated
thanks andy

Not familiar with this particular investment, but others that are similar.
This is an unregulated investment. You can lose the entire value and there's nothing you can do about it.
These types of investment are best avoided unless you are ultra speculative and can afford to lose the entire pot.
They're usually very expensive too.
- I don't suppose they're offering you 'cashback' if you buy their investment?0 -
Quote from website:
"Opportunities afforded to persons doing business with GGI generally involve the making of unsecured loans to GGI or Group entities."
Do you want to make an unsecured loan to someone you know nothing about? If you want to make loans to companies there are much larger and better known companies who would give you perhaps 5-6%. Look up corporate bonds. And they wouldnt try and get hold of your SIPP.
A general rule for your safety: have no dealings at all with any company that cold calls you on investment products.0 -
Here we go again. Another cold call from another unregulated company offering unconventional, unregulated investments with no consumer protection. These posts are getting more frequent.
Some rules as usual apply. Genuine financial services companies do not cold call. Most calls about pensions are actually scams and not legitimate. Some are not scams but are unregulated schemes with no consumer protection in some weird and unusual areas that are more suited to large investors who can afford to take a punt and not the average consumer.
gravity global investments are not regulated by the FSA to give financial advice (that includes pension advice). Their investment is unregulated but allowable within a SIPP. Unregulated schemes do not have to comply with FSA regulation or indeed much regulation of any type. They can say things that regulated schemes can not even hint at. A lot of the schemes give figures and data that are just pie in the sky.
marketing is designed to look good. It wouldnt be marketing otherwise.
Stick the golden rule. Never transact business of any sort with cold callers. If you think it is a good idea to review pension then use a local IFA of your choosing. Ask the IFA about this scheme if you fancy a punt with your money. Unless you are seriously loaded, expect the IFA to steer you away.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
What a small world and i got a call from this company claiming to offer a free pension review apt , although it all seemed very interesting we decided to get a review to see what this investment was about
Their sales person never turned up after two attempts ...how strange when we only live in Wrexham.0 -

I have invested with Gravity on two occasions and have had only positive results and experience.
I was introduced to them in September 2009, they had a PPI claim operation, and I invested in October 2009. My money was invested for 18 months and in April 2011 my funds were returned to my SIPP account together with profit of just over 33%.
Gravity outlined their Child Care opportunity and I reinvested with them that same month, April 2011, for a five year period. Unfortunately my son became very ill and needed urgent attention which involved expensive private care. I liased with Gravity exlplaining my situation, they repaid all sums invested together with profit which worked out at 14% p.a. in September 2013. They were not obliged to help as I had contracted to a five year period but were very professional and understanding and I can only report having very positive experiences with this Company.
I have no connection with this Company whatsoever and can only state how my investments with them have performed. I suggest anyone interested should speak with them directly and ask any questions.0 -

So, they contacted you before they were set up? Companies house shows an incorporation date after that.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I checked out the PPI Claim Company before investing and it was Gravity financial solutions ltd., which was registered at Companies House, the investment with Child Care was made in 2011.
My response was in reply to the original poster who asked for comments from anyone who had actually invested with Gravity, I have. As I said my experience with this Company has been nothing but positive hence why I have taken the time to write on here.0 -
Let me think who is more credible - a 3 time poster or an IFA with 40k thanks?0
