Compressed hours and BH entitlement

I've had a bit of a search, but still struggling with this one.
I've recently changed my working hours.
I now work 4x10 hour days, I get all day tues off and the weekends. I get 160 hours holiday (I think) + bank holidays, so 240 hours total(?) I get paid for the hours I should have worked on a bank holiday. Now if I understand this correctly if I'm off on a bank holiday, the 10 hours I should have worked is taken off my holiday entitlement.
My question is, Christmas this year lands on a Tuesday, my usual day off, do I effectively gain 10 hours in lieu?

You are entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks holiday which is 28 days for a full time employee and can include the bank holidays, you work 4 days so are entitled to 4/5's of full time worker so should get 22.4 days minimum which worked out in hours equals 224 total.
Because xmas is on one of your non working days you are not affected at all.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
No, you don't have to do anything. You don't have to use your hours to cover the bank holiday. But you have already been given the hours in your bank holiday entitlement so practically it works out that you can use those hours on another occasion as you don't need to use them for that bank holiday. You don't get any more hours on top of what you have been given.
You should be told what hours you get for bank holidays. If you are working full time hours over 4 days then you will get a full time bank holiday hours and holiday entitlement, not 4/5's. You just need to use 10 hours to book a day off, not the usual 7.5.Grocery challenge July £250

Thanks. This is what I meant when I said 10 hours in lieu, I didn't mean I would get an 'extra' 10 hours, but that I could use the hours I'm not loosing at another time?0 -

Presumimg that the full time hours at your work are 40 per week then you are entitled to the same annual leave and it would be best worked in hours.
Yes if you are off on a bank holiday anyway it won't change your entitlement but if its a day you should have worked then you will have to use 10 hours of your entitlement. This will happen if your work is closed on Monday bank holidays for instance.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
