    Waterstones
    M&S
    ASDA
    Tesco (i think)
    Sainsbury's

A few off the top of my head.

But what's stopping you printing off your CV and sending them out in the post? Have a look on the websites of any major shopping centres in your area as they usually have a jobs section. Check sites like Indeed and Reed too.

In addition to those already posted (the ones I know for sure who advertise jobs online):

Aldi (the bedminster store was quite nice looking at 1 point)
    B&Q
    Screwfix
    Toolstation
    Majestic wine
    Asda
    Millets/Blacks Group
    Go Outdoors
Iceland are also online as well

    Not sure of
    Lidl

Ill have a think of more.

Definitely check cabot circus and cribbs (not trying to say you dont know about them but for example a new user could be new to bristol and not know about cabot and cribbs ), loads of eployers there, not sure if costa coffee advertise jobs online but you could go in and ask.

    Added a few more.

Was it you i was speaking to about applying to Aldi? Well i did so that time, round about end of July i think, and never heard a peep back even though i knew the store i'd applied to was still recruiting until recently. I also applied for another store in a nearby town after seeing their poster and a week later while i was in i asked the manager if they'd received my cv/letter only to be told 'we would have received it but they all get sent to the area manager and he doesnt rush things'. Clearly they cant be in that much of a rush to recruit then as i've still not heard. Doesnt matter now mind as i have a job but still, it's annoying.

Yes it was me, can be quite annoying when it seems they need staff due to advertising for jobs but dont get a shifty on to actually recruit the staff.
  • Thank you -
    I'm open to any shop,
and I didn't think about sending out my CV's through the post.
I don't have much work experience - only a few to do with child care.

While your current experience might not be directly in retail, make sure you stress the skills/experience you have that are relevant to retail i.e. working under pressure, customer focus, reliability etc. These are just some quick ideas off the top of my head. Don't feel you have to highlight that you don't have retail experience, instead focus on the skills childcare had given you that can be transferred to retail.

Have a look at this, it's a good overview of some of the main skills that retail can require. http://www.prospects.ac.uk/industries_retail_entry.htm
Remember, not all these skills may be essential for the role you want in shop so don't worry if you meet them all or not. Just demonstrate as many as you can.
