Remove White paint on mental sink?

Options
Hi. Any suggestions for removing white paint from a metal sink?
I've tried white spirits and just scrubbing it but it's not for budging.

Was going to get a new one cause it's driving me crazy but that's surely a waste of money

I'll try any suggestions.

Thanks

  • Let the paint thoroughly dry first. Can take a couple of weeks. Then use a spatula, and knock it off.

All turps and white spirit do is water it down finer so making yarded to remove

What sort of paint is it, if emulsion white spirit want help, just use water and perhaps a kitchen scrubber.

  • Wall paper scraper, edge of paint blob. Tap handle with hand, should shift it

She used 'magic sponge' and stardrops on mine- took a while but eventually came off. Mine was too thin to scrape off (from washing paint brushes).

    Good luck

I'll try all of them and see which one works.
I've tried scrubbing it for what seems like ages but I'll try again for sure.
I'm not sure what kind of paint it is :-( emulsion I think.

If it is emulsion then it's plastic based, so not sure white spirit would move it anyway.

Can you fill the sink up with hot soapy water and leave it to soak over the paint mark for a few hours? Then I'd try lifting the edge with a sharp blade, stanley knife or razor blade something similar, to see if you can get a bit up...keep soaking it and try to peel it off. if it seems to make a difference, then even maybe try to cut through it to see if that get some more water underneath?

Failing that I'd take one of those metal scrubbies to it...but it will damage (scratch) the surrounding metal if you really go for it...so unless you want a scratched sink try and keep on the paint!
