Massive thanks

Just wanted to say a massive thanks to all on here for their support, understanding and guidance. I'm not going to pretend any of this has been easy, house repo, BR etc but it was necessary to move on and stop living in a house where all we talk about is money and how to make ends meet.

I have been discharged earlier than expected and am very grateful for that, wasn't expecting it at all so you can imagine how pleased I am.

Feels like I can move on and start rebuilding what can only be described as a pretty daunting process in the beginning. Things fall into place bit by bit and if it hadn't been for this forum, I don't know how I would have handled it. On its own, its good to know others out there are going through the same as its hard to discuss financial difficulties in the real world.

What I would say if you know its your only option, try not to delay it or drag it out (like we did for a year) and also despite how much my pride has been dented, I found it really helpful to confide in certain folks. Some of us just cannot hide the strain we go through and people are surprisingly more aware and clued up than you think. I always knew things would feel easier and get better (and they have), it was just a case of waiting. I no longer feel like a total failure, but a step ahead of where I was when deciding what to do. Remember that many folks are in this position or on their way...............you are not alone.

Take care for now, off to ponder and enjoy what feels like peace. x

Thanks folks you are all so kind.

Things have certainly got a lot better over the past year and I definitely now feel like a weight has been lifted and can move on from it all.

Thanks again I really wish those going through BR all the best as I do totally appreciate what an emotional roller coaster it can be.

    Take care folks x

Crikey, I haven't been here for ages for those who remember me. Ad around 1 1/4 years ago or so, can't believe it. Still haven't cleaned up my credit files was so exhausted from the whole experience I've just tried to get on with life.

Came on here to find out where to open a savings as our bank refused us and found a couple of posts with some good answers so that is great.

Thought while I was here Id say another thanks for all of the help you all gave me through very trying times. We are still in our lovely rented home which we love to bits, are keeping everything paid on time and can now start to put some cash away now we have got what we need in the house (started from scratch).

We haven't rushed anything, just tried to live in the here and now and are very glad we got rid of the house and went BR despite how difficult it all was. We are definitely rebuilding things and IT DOES get easier, despite this not being so clear at the start.

GOOD LUCK to all who are starting out on this journey or part way through.....if its a step you need to take, it could be the best decision of your life. xxx

This site was (and still is) a Godsend when I was going through the bankruptcy, and I still ask questions 5 years later! A wealth of knowledge is here, from people who have been through it and sometimes just knowing you are not alone can help a great deal. When you are feeling so confused and low about things, some kind advice from a stranger makes all the difference.
