    Ahh I see

Sorry Calleyw, I wasn't sure if you were having a go. He used to contribute more but was getting further into his overdraft so he's paying less at the mo to try and get back out of it.

Put like that, yes I completely agree... there's no way in the world my outgoings go down until he can contribute more... I'm just really not sure at the mo how much more he can contribute.

.... Looks like we both need to sit down and go through his finances sooner than later. If I stress that his financial situation is possibly stopping me going part time, it help put perspective onto things for him...

Thanks again, and I hope I didn't cause any offence in my reply Calleyw :o

I think calley is meaning the same as me. Your original post reads as though your OH contributes £150 to the bills and pays the childcare bills and a couple of other minor things and the bulk of the rest is coming from your wages. Meanwhile your OH is keeping/spending a great deal of his income to himself.

You aren't going to be able to fulfill your dream to go part-time unless more of the joint household income is contributed to the joint household bills.

Spendless thanks for that. That is exactly what I meant.

    Yours

    Calley

Could you get rid of your car? If you got rid of that and all the expense that goes with it it might cover what you would lose by going part time?
