What you can get is detailed in the link - an estimate (state pension statement) based on your contributions record.

You can also try the "profiler" http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Pensionsandretirementplanning/StatePension/DG_184319

What about SERPS. That only gives you qualifying years for basic state pension.

  • They come out with the same old *rap like they did on the last lot of changes they made. What are we paying these people for. You would never be able to get away with it in the private sector.
If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.

You seem to have been in contracted out

Yes, i was in the Royal Ordnance scheme from 1985 to 2001 plus 4 extra years awarded by trustees and the Rolls-Royce scheme from 2006 to present.
No pension from 2001 to 2006 when i worked for smaller companies. Will i have earned SERPs during this time, is the contracting in/out automatic or should i have done something.

I have given you a link to your ROPS scheme booklet in your other thread - I think it explains what happens?
Do you have a Rolls booklet?

They said 10 days for me too, but not a forecast just details of contributions
Well it arrived this morning and it says...
Its a pension estimate, its not a forecast of how much pension i may get.And it says "please note this is not a formal decision-the amounts shown are only estimates. You will receive a formal decision when you claim your state pension".

Forecast or estimate, it is the same thing as you always got. It just shows what you may get using current information and current state pension rules and as always is subject to change. Otherwise known as back of fag packet calculation.
