Suncream question

I've been using only coconut oil on my skin for a few months now, but as summer is approaching, I was wondering about suncream, both for the kids and myself. I've only ever used Ambre Solaire/Soltan type stuff, but wondered if anyone has anything else to recommend?
I guess the SPF of coconut oil is 0 !!!
Is there any such thing as a cream or lotion with a 'natural' skin protector IYSWIM?

....though another site I saw that on says it is currently out of stock while the product is 'reformulated'.
Of course, if you are looking for a 100% natural plant sunscreen, one application last several years, works under water, no re-application necessary, SPF 30+, never washes off, only costs £2.........then put a t-shirt on!
Ok, not much good for your face but chemical free, cheap and it works. Sunscreen is only one of the 3 recommendations (others being a shirt etc and hat) that you really need when going out in strong sunlight.0 -

A cheap t-shirt does not guarantee protection from the sun. I was badly burned a couple of times as a child through t-shirts. Thin white cotton is pretty much useless as sun protection. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -
Liz Earle's sun creams work with light reflecting particles rather than chemicals, and they are not tested on animals - they have the little bunny logo on the pack. I find them very effective, but they are not cheap.
The cream seems very thick at first, and takes a bit of getting used to, you need to spread it thinly but don't rub it right in.

Thanks for the link, newleaf. I'll take a look later when I get back from work.0

I find the Liz Earle looks chalky on my face - I may be putting too much on though...0

Hi Soba
janey Lee Grace, on her "ImperfectlyNatural Woman" site recommends https://www.lavera.co.uk for entirely natural sun protection (they also do lots of other skincare). Apparently, they use minerals in their suncreams.
Might be worth checking out.0 -
Hi
Purenuffstuff do a SPF20 sunscreen and list the ingredients on the website. They are a company which make natural, chemical free products and although I have yet to try their sunscreen, I can recomend the rest of their range - I cant see why the sunscreen should be any less wonderful!!
You can find the sunscreen by clicking on THIS LINK

This site do a lot of natural suncreams w/out chemicals. I bought some Lavera from there, quick delivery.

We used green people suncream for us and the kids last year, it was the first time I hadn't bought ambre solaire and was very pleased with it.
