Free Groceries at Lidles

Options
Just got back from our local Lidls - they had a pile of bread, pies, ready meals and cakes on the shelf after the tills - turns out you are allowed to help yourself to this food free of charge - it's in date still (there was alot tonite as closed tomorrow).

Don't know if it's like that everyday but worth a look!!

Happy Easter!!:

    I've had the odd loaf of bread free from them in the past, sadly as I only get to go there on a Saturday morning it's not often I get a chance at them.

    I was surprised to see Tescos was shut this morning, but that Argos wasn't, neither was Halfords, but Focus was shut too.

    Luckily I went to a family run garden centre instead for my plants and discovered they were friendly and much cheaper !

    SUNDAY TRADING LAWS

    The Sunday Trading Act 1994 limits the opening hours of large shops: * Small shops (up to 280 sq m/3,000 sq ft) - no restrictions on opening

    * Large shops (over 280 sq m/3,000 sq ft)
    * Sunday - Opening for 6 continual hours only between 10am and 6pm
    * Easter Sunday - closed
    The Act applies to shops in England and Wales, there are no restrictions on Sunday shopping hours in Scotland.

    They have to close on Easter Sunday if over 280 sq mtrs.
    Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition

    I wonder if that applies in NI too, it's odd if it is cos then it'd technically mean the 24 hour Tesco's are breaking the law.

    How do you mean? There are no 24 hour tescos in Northern Ireland that are open between 10pm on sat nights and 1pm on sunday afternoons
