Any CS/HMRC employees out there?

I've has a OH review completed by ATOS and they have stated that as a reasonable adjustment, a move to an office/other Govt department closer to home would be beneficial in relation to my disability due to travel times etc where I currently work.

I've always been told that the problem with getting a position closer to home is finding a vacancy within HMRC or another Govt department.

Well Ive found one, and it's the same grade so would be considered a level transfer. The only problem is it's a FTA for only 6 months.

Does anyone have any experience with the CS/HMRC and getting a temporary transfer/secondment that would mean I could be considered for this position, but at the end of the FTA transfer back to my old (current) job?

Any advice would be helpful.
