felix gail

I am so annoyed with the big supermarkets. Sain, tesco, asda and Morrison. Every week one of them has the Felix GAIL cat food on offer but this week it seems they are all in cahoots and it's nearly £4 or over in all the stores. Even in wilks as well.
It works out quite a lot when you have 4 cats to feed. Why do they do this? they must know that very few people will pay that amount. I have ended up buying just 2 packets of their own brand and hoping that the prices will go back down next week.

Keep an eye on Amazon, they sometimes have it on offer with free delelvery, even less if you use the subscribe and save (which you can cancel after one one delivery)

They are not brilliant atm, but better than the full price in the supermarkets

Sainsburys currently has them for 2 for £7. Hopefully that one of the others will be doing a better offer next week.

I'm converting my four cats onto tinned Felix and Classic (this is made by the Butcher's tinned dog food people, and is surprisingly good - their dog food is excellent).

Pouches are an incredibly expensive way to feed them and increasingly I was finding DD was not even squeezing the last out of each pouch, adding up to really quite a lot of food going in the bin instead of the cats' bowls. She refuses to rinse the pouches and put in the recycle bin, at least she does remember this with tins.
  • If you have a Lidls try them on their pouches. My cats like the ones in jelly, I htink it is £2.39 or £2.59 for 12 pouches. It must be good stuff otherwise they wouldn't touch it.
    1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
    10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
    50p: Christmas presents £3.50
    £2: holidays £2.00
  • My little local shop was charging 70p for 1 felix sachet. I nearly had a fit because I had been buying them when desperate in with other shopping and didnt know the price, till I only went in for 3!

where do you recycle the pouches? My daughter often buys these & I've always thought that at least you can recycle tins and the foil containers but I didn't know that the pouches can be recycled.

Our blue bin collection is for all tins, foil, cling film, and plastic food containers, plastic bags and bottles, and wrapping, so it covers pet food pouches - not all local authorities take plastics, we're lucky. No polystyrene, expanded foam containers, or bubble wrap though, they go in the black bin for non-recyclables.

Marilyn I'm going to Lidl later, I might try some of their own brand. Greedy fat boy eats anything but old lady and the babykits (1 year old) are picky, so fat boy eats whatever they leave if he gets the chance.
