I suffer with excema and struggle with washing powder itching my skin. I use the cheapest soap for hand washing (3 bars for about 23p). I also use half recommended amount of the cheapest morrisons non-bio wash powder (about £1 or £2) for washing clothes. I don't use fabric conditioner or vinegar either. No one in my family moans or even notices..we don't smell and my washing is clean. After all, this is how they washed years ago.

I keep staring at my home grown butternut squashes not knowing what to do with them... we're not a soup family, so that's a fab suggestion out of the window... We use them in roasts but seem to have gone of it for a while and they don't seem to freeze very well(they end up really soggy). Any ideas anyone?[/QUOTE]

I had planned to make a rabbit stew the other week - but found out on the day that I had no swede, carrots or potato - so I used what I had - which was butternut squash and sweet potato. The result was a very mushy and quite unappetising stew (although it tasted fine), but becuase of the bulk of the squash there was loads left over - I froze it and then the next week got it out and made a pie out of it - which was delicious - hot and cold. So, I reckon if it works with rabbit, it would also work with chicken, and bacon.. I'm plannig growing my own butternut this year too - so I'll post any other finds!
